Clubs FAQ

Clubs FAQ

Q: How do I pay?

A: Currently payment is due when an invoice is raised. We accept cash, cheques, transfers direct into our bank account, childcare vouchers, and standing orders. Payments can be staggered and paid daily, weekly or monthly but all fees must be paid by the end of each half term. If fees are not paid we will not accept bookings for the following half term.

Please see our Clubs Payment Policy for all the details.

Q: What will my child do whilst at After School Club?

A: Children can take part in a range of activities whilst in Club, these include sports (indoor and outdoor), arts and crafts, games and puzzles, role play/imaginative play/dressing up, den building/construction, books and quiet activities. Children can do their homework whilst in Club if they wish. We also go out on short walks to the library, park and local shops occasionally.

Q: What staff ratios do you work to?

A: Whilst we are in Club we work on a maximum ratio of one staff member to eight children, 1:8. This will never be exceeded.

Club Coordinators will routinely assess ratios dependent on the specific needs of the children and any special circumstances.

Q: How flexible are the bookings?

A: We try to be as flexible as possible and allow days to be changed or booked at short notice as long as we have spaces available on requested sessions.

Sessions can be cancelled at short notice but all booked sessions will be charged for.

Q: What will my child have to eat whilst at After School Club?

A: Children are given a light tea when they arrive at After School Club. There is usually a hot and cold alternative and a choice of drinks. Some of the foods we offer are toast, pasta, waffles, soup, noodles, cereal, crackers, yoghurt, biscuits, and a selection of fresh fruits. Drinks include fresh fruit juices, dilute juices, milk, milkshake and hot chocolate. We also do food crafts occasionally, making our own pizzas, fruit kebabs, buns and biscuits.

Please note, this is not a substitute for an evening meal.

Q: Can you deal with special requirements?

A: Yes we can.

Please see the list below and if you cannot find the answer, please contact us to discuss.

Dietary and medical requirements – we have strict controls to deal with foods to be excluded (e.g.allergies, vegetarians) and medicines to be administered. We will discuss all the requirements and a care plan will be put in place for when your child starts After School Club.

Special Needs – we work with external specialists, i.e. Physiotherapists, Speech Therapy, Portage workers etc.  and alongside Sheffield City Council’s ‘Special Needs Inclusion Playcare Service’.
